45th ANTALYA GOLDEN ORANGE FILM FESTIVAL WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN OCTOBER 10th-19th
Realized with the collaborative efforts of the Turkish Foundation of Cinema and Audiovisual Culture (TURSAK) and AKSAV between October 19 - 28 2007, Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival has marked, as it did in previous years, a great occasion in the international calendar of culture and arts as Turkey's major hub of cinema in its 44th year.
Adding to the decades' honor of being the Turkish cinema's most sought-after reward the pride of establishing the gate where the Turkish cinema opens to the globe after the revolutionary renewal of content in 2004, the longest-running film festival of Turkey, the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival has brought the splendour of the silver screen as well as many stars and pioneers of the world cinema together with the lovers of cinema.
Being the festival's global facet, the International Eurasia Film Festival enjoyed the privilege of hosting a great genius of cinema, the legendary director Francis Ford Coppola in its 3rd year. Visiting Turkey as the honor guest of the 3rd International Eurasia Film Festival, Francis Ford Coppola attended the Turkey and Asia premieres of his latest masterpiece "Youth Without Youth" within the "Gala Screenings" section of the International Eurasia Film Festival and greeted his Turkish fans.
Hosting the Turkey premieres of over 80 titles, the 3rd Interrnational Eurasia Film Festival's other guests included celebrities such as the French diva Sophie Marceau - who attended the Turkey premiere of her second directorial "Trivial" which has been an award-runner in the competition section - and regal actor Christopher Lambert; British wizard of the silver screen Nicolas Roeg; auteur Clement Virgo, actor Rossif Sutherland, British-Indian director Shekhar Kapur, actresses Miranda Richardson, Rita Tushingham and Mamie Gummer.
Having opened its curtains with "Lust, Caution", the latest film of the Taiwanese-American genius of cinema Ang Lee, the 3rd International Eurasia Film Festival curtained down with a piece as resplendent as its opening piece: British Indian maestro Shekhar Kapur's Academy Award winner "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" starring Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush and Clive Owen.
Organized under rubric of the the global facet of the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, the International Eurasia Film Festival, Eurasia Film Market, Turkey's first ever film market has gathered industry professionals coming from a wide geography extending from the East Asia to the coasts of Atlantic while the Eurasia Production Platform brought producers of international fame and activity together with Turkish filmmakers and signed a great achievement on the way to support the Turkish cinema and open it to the globe.
The 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival will open its doors in 2008 from October 10 to 19 while the Eurasia Film Market will take place between October 10-12.
