NURİ BİLGE CEYLAN'S"THREE MONKEYS" MADE ITS TURKEY PREMIERE
Nuri Bilge Ceylan's 2008 Cannes Film Festival "Best Director" winner latest film "Three Monkeys" launched its Turkey premiere as a part of the 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival and the 4th International Eurasia Film Festival.
Competing at both the international competition of the 4th International Eurasia Film Festival and the National Feature Film Competition of the 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, the Turkey premiere of "Three Monkeys" took place at the Festival Palace AKM with the attendance of director Nuri Bilge Ceylan, scriptwriter Ebru Ceylan, performers Yavuz Bingöl, Hatice Aslan, Ahmet Rıfat Şungar and Ercan Kesal. The
attendees of the premiere included famous actor and festival guest Danny Glover .
Attending the Q&A session at the festival café following the screening, the film's festival team answered the questions of the audience. Nuri Bilge Ceylan stated that the the film's main idea has been conceived during the talks they had with Ebru Ceylan, and the film's actor Ercan Kesal, a doctor by profession with a political background, had been of great contribution during the scriptwriting stage of the film.
Expressing his opinions and feelings about the collaboration that took place, young actor Ahmet Rıfat Şungar stated it's been a honour to be able to work with Nuri Bilge Ceylan right after his graduation from the school.Şungar added "It has been a precious experience for me to work in an environment that boosts confidence". The film's actress Hatice Aslan told she has stepped into the cinema after long years of stage acting and she has overcome the challenge with the help and the guidence of Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
Award-winning director told "making a movie changes a person in many ways. But this is independent from both the awards given to the film and other things".
